1) Just Cause 4
Just Cause 4 will be released on December 4, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game follows Rico Rodriguez as he sets out to solve a rebellion in Solis while dealing with inner turmoil. Just Cause 4’s world is described as four times larger than Just Cause 3’s and features extreme weather conditions like blizzards and sandstorms that will impact how you play.
2) No Man’s Sky Next
No Man’s Sky is one of gaming’s most exciting titles. An enormous, beautiful universe you can explore on your own or with friends. This version will see several expansions roll out over time, adding in new features and entirely new areas to discover. Everyone should be watching Hello Games closely with No Man’s Sky Next — it’ll be one of those rare occasions where gamers get a free upgrade to their game.
3) Death Stranding
What can we expect from Hideo Kojima’s new, highly-anticipated game? The latest title from master creator Hideo Kojima is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018. Death Stranding is a first-person action game that takes place in an open world environment, similar to titles like Destiny or No Man’s Sky.
4) Gears 5
Gears 5 is already in development, and it will be exclusive to Xbox and PC platforms. Gears of War 4 was a huge success for Microsoft and The Coalition, selling over 11 million copies worldwide. It seems as though we’re on track for another great entry in 2019. After that, however, expect Gears 5 to hit sometime in 2022. Let’s see what they have planned!
5) Metro Exodus
With a scheduled release in 2018, Metro Exodus is a follow up to 2015’s Metro: Last Light and 2010’s Metro 2033. Set in a post-apocalyptic Russia, it sees players take on an Artyom who must navigate a seemingly deserted Moscow that’s been devastated by .
6) Crackdown 3
You may not have heard of Crackdown 3 yet, but it’s in development at Reagent Games, a new studio formed by Dave Jones. It will be published by Microsoft, and it will be exclusive to Xbox One on launch. The game is scheduled for release some time in summer 2017, although that could change–and Microsoft has yet to announce a specific date.
7) Rage 2
Rage 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is a sequel to 2010’s Rage. As in its predecessor, players assume control of ranger Walker, who battles mutants after an asteroid impacts Earth. The gameplay features a mixture of shooting, driving vehicles, and melee combat while using gadgets such as binoculars, night vision goggles, and deployable weapons such as sentry turrets.
8) Beyond Good & Evil 2
Is it still a thing? Is there going to be a beta? Should I get hyped about it? What’s even going on with Beyond Good & Evil 2 at all? It’s been years and we haven’t heard much of anything about Michel Ancel’s ambitious sci-fi epic.
9) Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 could be out as soon as April 16, 2019, according to a massive leak of alleged marketing plans and developer documentation. Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen—but we did get some new footage last month at E3 2018, so fans have hope. And CD Projekt Red has said on numerous occasions that they’re not ready to officially announce a release date yet. We expect more news either way in 2019.
10) Starfield
What if I told you there was a game coming out that would become one of your all-time favorites? What if I told you it was in development for over five years and will be released in 2022? That is correct Starfield, from Bethesda Game Studios, will be coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One as an open world space exploration adventure. Starfield is a science fiction roleplaying game set in an endless universe with multiple planets and alien races to discover.
